Welcome to the Reading Lab!
Students who attend the Reading Lab receive additional instructional support, in small groups, to help them learn and improve their early reading skills such as:
- awareness of sounds in spoken words
- letter-sound connections
- blending sounds together
- reading high-frequency words (words that we see a lot when we read) with automaticity
- reading aloud fluently (with speed, accuracy, and proper expression)
- learning the meaning of words
Once students have these skills mastered, they can more easily understand or comprehend what they are reading.
