What is a School Site Council?
A School Site Council (SSC) is a group of teachers, parents, administrators, and interested community members who work together to develop and monitor a school's improvement plan. It is a legally required decision-making body for any school receiving federal funds.
 
What are the main goals of a School Site Council? 
- Assessing the needs of all students and using data to set goals.
- Revising the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) with budgetary allocations.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the school plan. 
- Revising the Home-School Compact and Parent Involvement Guidelines, as needed.
